Sterling Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon,
$16.95-$22.99, 89 points, poured a deep ruby grading bright red with a broad clear wine ring.
Aromas were a bit closed, but hints of brine, coca, black grape, and sandalwood were okay.
The medium-plus body was early palate smooth, but quickly transitioned to a more wooly texture with good acidity and building grainy tannin.
Flavors of cola, coffee, coca, blackberry, and boysenberry were ripe and delicious.
Finished fair with lingering plum notes, a hint of eucalyptus, mild spice, and a lively 14.8% alcohol.
Quite a good Cabernet for the price.
