Bliss Family Vineyards Mendocino County 2016 Rosé, $11.89-$13.99, 88 points, was shades of silky salmon pink.
Aromatic floral strawberry and raspberry Kool-Aid were good.
Light-plus body with enough acidity carried an abundance of bubble gum flavors with intense strawberry notes trailing like a caboose deep into the finish of hibiscus, easy spice, and a potent 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 35% Zinfandel, 27% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Dolcetto and 7% Mixed Reds.
Paired fine with our Mexican cuisine.

"Enough acidity" or elevated acidity? Makes all the difference :)
ReplyDeleteGood price.
VG: Light, medium, elevated, and enough acidity, especially in Rosé can be a descriptively problematic perception (sensation) and sometimes seem different depending on the varietal(s) and how ripe the wine tastes; the science is 'strong with you' but the force of sensation is mine; so when I'm not impressed I'm tempted to resort to 'enough'.
