Game of Thrones Central Coast 2016 Chardonnay, $16.99-$19.99, 88 points, poured a medium brass color.
Aromatic pome fruit, flowers, and hints of caramel, cantaloupe, and vanilla were quite good.
Medium-bodied with good acidity and flavors reflective of the aromas carried deep into the fair finish with a bit of ginger and a spot-on 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with the summer salad and fried chicken, but the hint of vanilla was not the best pairing with our baked fig dessert, better with our pistachio/cranberry biscotti.
Vinted and bottled by Seven Kingdoms Wines, Hopland, Ca.
Okay, I bought this Chardonnay because I'm a fan of Game of Thrones, but now I'm a fan of this balanced Chardonnay.

I'm intrigued by the tie in with the GOT series. I wonder who pays whom. (Haven't watched GOT since they cut Ned Stark's head off in season 1.)
ReplyDeleteVG: It appears GOT came first:
