Château Vignot Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2010 Bordeaux Red Wine, $25.49-$61.99, 85 points, poured broadly black with a brownish/red penumbra followed by a bleeding clear wine ring.
The aromas were unsatisfying prune and shoe polish with a bit of the barnyard to boot.
Full-bodied with good acidity and a supportive underlayment of tannin conveyed over-ripe black fruit, prune, marzipan and a dribble of citrus flavors.
Finished on the fading palate, light white pepper notes, and a well balanced 14% alcohol.
Honestly, not my cup of tea, but I can see some rustic-plus old timers enjoying this wine.
Actually paired okay with our cheese burgers.
