Martin Ray Sonoma Coast 2019 Pinot Noir, $16.99-$21.99, 89 points, poured a deep ruby red with violet highlights, a broad clear wine ring, and moderately stained legs.
Aromas of cherry fruit, cinnamon, rose pedals, and underbrush were good.
A near full-bodied dry and somewhat austere red wine with good acidity, grainy supportive tannins, and flavors of spicy red cherry, anise, and a hint of vanilla were good also.
Finished long on the fading palate, cayenne, and a well-balanced 14.1% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our chicken buffet.
A very competent and nicely priced California Pinot Noir.
