Easton Amador County 2010 Zinfandel, $15.99-$17.99, 89 points, has a slightly cloudy ruby color with a broad clear rim.
The aroma is spicy red cherry.
A medium bodied wine, juicy with good acidity and mild tannin with a touch of heat (14.5% alcohol), carries flavors of red cherry, coffee, and tart red grape-skin.
Easton 2010 Zin finishes fair with spice and residual heat.
I found this Zinfandel a bit on the edgy side, but better after it was opened for a few hours.

Yeah, I use to read that blog too (http://2daysperbottle.blogspot.com/). I thought it was a good one, but the last post was more than two years ago (I believe).
Blogs come and go, and they require some commitment; as the NH Wineman heads toward three years, I find it more fun and demanding, because to be relevant a blog has to have a product of interest, and I see each post as a product that others can use as either a guide or as comradeship (Some very nice folks out there).
As for me, I have never pretended to be some "big" authority on wine, but I know what I like and what I don't like, and along the way I've tried to systematize and refine the way I write about my likes and dislikes.
Respecting a Vineyard's wines has become much more important to me, but being consistent with my judgments is very difficult.
Holding onto my independence has caused me to reject the offer of sample wines from a number of wineries, because unlike others who CAN keep their objectivity, I doubt that I could be unaffected.
I heard it said that wine is business, and I understand that, but for me, it's a hobby, and writing about it helps me to focus more critically on tasting wine, than if I was just drinking it.
A few kind people have encouraged me on this endeavor, as I have tried to encourage others; I don't see this as a zero-sum proposition, and I'm not one of many bloggers who seem to resent us newbie wine tasters/bloggers.
As always, thanks for your contribution to those who read these comments and for your own very interesting blog.

That is good that you remain true to your own ideals, just enjoy wine on a level that you are comfortable with. I bet you could remain objective if you were sent samples. I have never received a sample from anyone, haven't even been offered, but I'm pretty sure if I didn't like something, I'd have the independence of mind to say so...at the end of the day we still have to live with ourselves.
