Saintsbury Carneros 2007 Pinot Noir,
$23.99-$26.99, 90 points, had an almost unfiltered appearance, with deep ruby trending maroon with a broad clear rim where the surface of the wine meets the glass.
The aromas were notes of coffee, black cherry, hints of clove and blackberry.
Medium-bodied with good acidity, smooth texture, noticeable and still enduring tannin.
Flavors faithfully mirrored the aromas with red fruits and a hint of bourbon.
Finished fair on a touch of cayenne and white pepper with a well balanced 13.5% alcohol.
