Sterling Napa Valley 2012 Pinot Noir, $15.99-$22.99, 87 points, appeared deep ruby with a clear rim at the leggy glass wall.
Hints of sweet spices, plum, and cherries on the nose were okay.
Medium-plus bodied with good acidity and moderately supportive tannin carried flavors which mirrored the nose.
Finished long on white and black pepper with some warmth from the 14.2% alcohol.
