Francine et Olivier Savary Vieilles Vignes Burgundy 2011 Chablis, $11.99-$17.99, 86+ points, poured a pale lemon/lime yellow/green color.
Melon, wet stone, and a Chardonnay grape smell as typically Chardonnay as Prosecco smells exclusively of the Glera grape, were just okay for me.
Near medium-bodied with good acidity and flavors that mirrored the aroma were just okay as well.
Finished long on the trailing palate, lots of black pepper, and an easy-going 12.5% alcohol.

Not all Chablis is created equal, but I so much prefer Chablis over Burgundy (will go no ML every time).
ReplyDeleteVG: I agree! I tend to love Chablis, but this one is just a table wine for me, basically the same feel I had with the 2006 vintage. They usually strike me as 'clean'!
