Tolaini Al Passo IGT Tuscan 2009 Red Wine, $20.39-$26.99, 91 points, poured an opaque ruby transitioning sunburst orange/red toward the glass shallows with a thin clear rim-ring and considerable draping.
Aromatic rose perfume with toasty black cherry, and blackberries were outstanding.
The medium body was a bit deceptive to the perceived fullness of acidity, smoothly supportive tannin, and richness of flavor.
The delicious flavors were a complex array of bourbon, blackberry, chocolate, and licorice notes.
Finished long on the trailing palate, a well integrated 13.5% alcohol, a kiss of eucalyptus, and mild spice.
