Marqués de Cáceres Gran Reserva 2008 Rioja, $24.99-$29.99, 92+ points, poured a deep ruby trending opaque crushed blackberries purple/red with a broad clear rim-ring.
Aromatic black fruit, marzipan, roses, violets, bourbon, and wood notes were wonderful.
Medium-plus body carried good acidity, fine grainy tannin, and flavors that reflected the aromas with hints of black cherry cordial.
Finished fine on eucalyptus, a well integrated 13.5% alcohol, and warm spice notes.
