Marcel Lapierre Raisins Goulois Vin De France 2014 Beaujolais, $11.89-$13.99, 85 points, poured a slightly cloudy cranberry red with a clear wine ring and considerable draping.
The nose was pomegranate, red cherry jam, cotton candy with a hint of horse-hair (just okay for me).
Light-plus body with good acidity and very mild tannin.
Flavors mirrored the nose fairly well, and finished on that trailing palate, easy spice notes, tart citrus, and a well integrated 12% alcohol.

Sarah: The Morgan was twice the price, but twice the wine (JMO).
ReplyDeleteSounds like a not so good wine, but probably quaffable for the price.
ReplyDeleteVG: So the label would imply!
