Geyser Peak 2012 Zinfandel, $6.79-$16.99, 86 points, appeared as a deep and crystalline ruby color with a broad transparent wine ring.
Aromas of red cherry and blueberry were okay.
Medium body marked by honed tannins and good acidity were a bit puckering.
Flavors were reflective of the aromas with a slightly syrupy red raspberry, but were a bit woody.
Finished okay on the trailing palate with a touch of mulling spice and a well-blended 13.5% alcohol.
Paired fine with our loaded pizza.

I used to think Geyser Peak's SB was a value-priced, go-to white for nonserious quaffing. I would think this Zin would fall into the same category.
