Quinta Do Crasto D.O.C. 2012 Douro Reserva Red Wine

Quinta Do Crasto D.O.C. 2012 Douro Reserva Red Wine, $31.14-$36.99, 91 points, was a dark red with a maroon cast grading purple/red toward the clear wine ring at the glass edge.
Aromatic dried herbs with cedar, lavender, and tobacco were excellent.
Medium-plus body with good acidity and a silky underlayment of tannin managed an unusual tasting experience dominated by tobacco, boysenberry, plum, and herbal flavors.
Finished long on a hot 14.5% alcohol inspirited spiciness.
Paired nicely with my meatball sub.
