The Seeker Marlborough 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

The Seeker Marlborough 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, $8.99-$18.99, 86 points, poured a glossy gold color with green highlights.
Aromatic gooseberry, lemongrass, and a bit of pine pitch reminded me that this was a New Zealand SB.
This light, crisp, and acidic Sauvignon Blanc with grapefruit throughout the palate and those flavors that mirrored the aromas seems to have lost a little touch of its freshness, but still paired well with my Maritime Halibut and chips; note to self: I need to pick up the 2016 vintage to compare.
Finished fair on the trailing palate, a hint of ginger, and a well-balanced 13% alcohol.

  1. Keep in mind that there are blind wine tastings that single-out 'Aged' (2 years old) SBs.

  2. And six months older than our northern hemisphere vintage.
