Catena High Mountain Vines Mendoza 2011 Chardonnay, $15.99-$21.99, 86+ points, was a straw yellow color.
Aromatic vanilla, butterscotch, and an toasty crème brûlée, were good.
Medium-bodied with fair to good acidity reflected the aromas, adding an almost burnt toasty melon note, reminded me of a typical so-so Cali Chardonnay (I wouldn't be able to tell the difference).
Finished on the trailing palate, a touch of ginger, and a noticeable 13.5% alcohol.
