Liberty School Central Coast 2007 Syrah

Liberty School Central Coast 2007 Syrah, approximately $11.00, 86 points, poured core black trending cranberry red toward the thin clear wine ring.
Profuse aromas of cedar, clove, marzipan, red cherry, earth, oak, and a floral component were okay if not a bit overwhelming.
Full-bodied with fair acidity and nearly concluded mild tannin managed a smorgasbord of flavors reflecting the aromas and carried in a slightly tart and syrupy matrix with a hint of anise.
Finished fair on the trailing palate with easy warm spice and a well integrated 13.5% alcohol.
Sadly this worthy Syrah, in my opinion, unfairly rated scores from other sources of 78-85 points.
