Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast 2013 Chardonnay,
$17.99-$22.99, 87 points, was straw yellow.
Complex aromas depended on temperature, with cold temperatures having pineapple and citrus notes while warmer temperatures were more melon, honeysuckle and olive oil aromas; altogether quite good.
Medium-bodied with fair acidity managed this dry intense white wine.
Very much a typical Cali Chardonnay with cold citrus and oak notes transitioning toward vanilla, butter, and other oak influences while warm melon flavors supplanted colder citrus notes.
Finished with a noticeable 14.5% alcohol, orange peel, and spice.
