Eagle Glenn Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $18.69-$21.99, 88 points, poured maroon trending rosewood red, a broad transparent wine ring, and considerable draping on the glass bowl.
The nose was soft sandalwood with hints of black currant.
Medium-bodied, medium-plus acidity, and moderate grainy tannins managed easy drinking flavors of red raspberry, boysenberry, and a touch of anise.
Finished fair on a blueberry pie flavor, warm spicy notes, and a seemingly bigger than labeled 14.2% alcohol.
Paired well with my hamburger/bean goulash on buttered mashed potatoes.
A perfect better than a-red-table-wine for today's celebrations.

The Old Glory corkscrew in the past two posts is quite fetching :)
ReplyDeleteNot heard of this label, but what a price!
VG: "fetching", I like it! I told you that you were a British influence on me!
