Gramercy Cellars "The Third Man" 2012 GSM Red Wine

Gramercy Cellars "The Third Man" 2012 GSM Red Wine, $42.49-$49.99, 92 points, poured core black quickly trending, toward the glass bowl, a deep maroon and finally burgundy red with a broad crystalline wine ring.
Aromatic sandalwood, sea breezes, black cherry, truffle and soft lavender notes were excellent.
Medium-plus bodied with good acidity, smooth mellow tannins, and flavors richly reflective of the aromas with hints of blueberries, dried herbs, cedar, and licorice were complex, delicious, and persistent into the long finish of spice, mint, and a warm 14.7% alcohol.
Paired beautifully with our peperoni pizza and chef's salad.

  1. A GSM from Washington...sounds lovely, especially with that pizza :)

  2. VG: I often get a statement like: Such a good wine with pizza! Some pizzas just call for a good wine, and I'm glad you see this! :-)
