Fincao Los Aljibes 2007 Cabernet Franc

Fincao Los Aljibes 2007 100% Cabernet Franc, approximately $18.00, 92 points, begins in the glass as a deep ruby with radiating orange hues toward the clear glass rim.
The nose showed black and red cherry, abundant licorice, and tobacco notes, but needed some teasing.
This is a full bodied red wine with good acidity, firm tannin, and a smooth texture.
The flavor profile follows the aroma, but finishes strong and long with a trailing palate, a hint of warmth (13.5% alcohol), and excellent black and white pepper.
Friends bought this wine at the Wine ConneXtion in North Andover, MA.

Emeri De Bortoli Australian Sparkling Pink Moscato

Emeri De Bortoli Australian Sparkling Pink Moscato, $9.99, 89 points, is peach-pink with only slight effervescence.
Kiwi, pink grapefruit, strawberry, and honeysuckle on the nose is very good.
A crisp light body with ample acidity seems to fly in the face of a fairly sweet wine.
Flavors follow the aroma, but culminated in a rather sticky cotton-candy experience (8% alcohol).
Still, paired with my Key-Lime pie, this wine easily beat out a Riesling and a Sauvignon Blanc for first place, and in fact, paired with the Key-Lime pie, made for an excellent dessert wine.
I bought this wine at the Hannaford's Supermarket in Londonderry.

Domaine Séguinot-Bordet 2008 Chablis

Domaine Séguinot-Bordet 2008 Chablis, $21.99, 91 points, appears almost as a pure transparent molten gold color.
Floral notes blend beautifully with a predominantly pome aroma.
Near medium body has bright acids, and ironically begins with crisp stony flavors, yet trends creamy honeydew melon, pear, and red-delicious apple.
The finish is clean minerals on a trailing palate and a creamy texture, with just a hint of citrus.
Yes, I know, I paid full price! It sometimes happens, and sometimes it is worth paying full price (How much would you pay for this wine in a restaurant?)! Sometimes you have to buy that which is available, because there is not an abundance of Chablis wines available in New Hampshire.

Château Carignan Grand Vin Cadillac Premières Côtes De (Red) 2010 Bordeaux

Château Carignan Grand Vin Cadillac Premières Côtes De (Red) 2010 Bordeaux, $16.11-$24.99, 89 points, begins in the glass as a deep purple red color that mergers with the leggy glass wall with a transparent rim.
A pleasant aroma of red and black cherry with floral notes and a hint of alcohol (14.5%) wafts rather intense.
Full bodied with good acidity and richly approachable tannin support a balanced flavor profile of plum, boysenberry, cedar, and coffee notes.
Finishes fair on a trailing palate with a touch of spice and heat.
When my friend with the "Escalade" drops over for lunch, I'll be sure to grace the table with a bottle of Grand Vin Cadillac 8-)

Château Malescasse Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc 2010 Red Bordeaux

Château Malescasse Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc 2010 Red Bordeaux, $22.19-$24.99, 90 points, appears in consonant with other 2010 red Bordeaux wines, though deep ruby and not opaque as some others, however it trends purple/red with a clear rim.
The aroma of cinnamon, clove, cedar, and black cherry, though pleasant has a hint of sour plum and coffee-mocha.
Near full bodied, rich and succulent with bright acidity and firm tannin makes for a solid backbone that bodes well for aging.
Black cherry, pomegranate, licorice, and plum notes are nearly bested by the long spicy finish with a hint of heat (14% alcohol) and eucalyptus.

Patianna Mendocino 2010 Sauvignon Blanc

Patianna Mendocino 2010 Sauvignon Blanc, $7.64-$19.99, 86 points, appears light lime green trending a watery straw yellow.
The grapefruit, tart apple, and grassy aroma is good.
A light body with good acidity paired well with Asian cuisine.
The flavor is bit sour, citrusy, with some mint, otherwise the flavor profile follows the aroma.
Finishes on a trailing palate with the slightest ginger note.
This is another NHLS "power-buy", and for $7.64, you could do worse!
