Frog's Leap Napa Valley 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

Frog's Leap Napa Valley 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, $20.79-$42.99, 91+ points, appeared opaque ruby trending black currant purple/red toward the clear glass rim.
The nose was near "dumb" with only hints of black currant and a toasty floral note manifesting.
Medium-plus body carried good acidity with mild-plus and layered tannin.
This fruit-forward Cabernet had nuanced flavors of tar, clove, roses, savory, and cardamom.
Finished on the trailing palate, accelerating spice, and a well integrated 13.2% alcohol.
Frog's leap is always a good wine.

  1. The three best things about Frog's Leap - the branded cork with "Ribbitt" and "TFWYHF" and then the bottle which says "Open Other End" on the bottom. The wine is good too, but when I visited them, the tasting room folks were very unwelcoming to be polite about it.
