Dr. Konstantin Frank Finger Lakes 2014 Rosé, $14.44-$16.99, 90 points, poured a distinctively rose red color.
Smells of flowers, red cherries, and strawberries needed considerable swishing and swirling to evoke, but in the end were very good.
Light-bodied, crisp, dry, and good acidity gave a substantial and appreciated texture.
Flavors of strawberry plus a hint of hibiscus were rather one dimensional, but very tasty.
Finished long with a light spiciness, the trailing palate, and an innocuous 12% alcohol.
Paired well with a cornmeal battered fried haddock and chips.
Varietals were Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc.
