Honeysuckle and melon on the nose were good.
Medium-bodied with good acidity carried early palate melon and vanilla flavors yielding toward citrusy tangerine and Granny smith apple.
Finished long on the trailing palate with hints of butter, ginger, and a well integrated 14% alcohol.
The back label has some interesting genealogy beginning with William Benjamin Foxen, the English sea captain who was Dick Doré's (winemaker) great-great grandfather.
Appropriately I paired this Chardonnay with a fried Captain's cod and a baked potato with sour cream and chives.
