La Pergola D'Antonio D.O.C.G. 2012 Chianti, $11.70-$12.99, 84+ points, appeared maroon trending brick red with a broad clear wine ring.
Smells of oaky bourbon and violets were good.
Medium-bodied with good acidity and fine grainy tannin carried somewhat thin flavors of oaky black cherry with an overwhelming taste of violets.
Finished on the trailing palate and an unremarkable 12.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with my American chop suey.
I bought this at the Hannaford's Super Market.
