Château Barde-Haut Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2014 Bordeaux Red Wine, $28.89-$33.99, 92 points, poured core black grading ruby red toward the broad clear wine ring and leggy glass bowl.
Aromas of cedar, flowers, and blackberries were shy but lovely.
Would rightly be labeled a Merlot, and just shy of 13% Cabernet Franc, this Saint-Émilion Bordeaux red wine just missed my celebrating the Merlot month of October.
Medium bodied with good acidity and fine drying tannins managed to yet deliver delicious flavors reflective of the aromas with coffee and tobacco notes to compound my delight in this very young wine.
Finished very long on bright cherry fruit, white pepper, truffle, and a hot 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my Texas burgers.
