Dry Creek Vineyard Russian River Valley 2014 Chardonnay Block 10, $25.49-$33.99, 91 points, appeared a deep glossy gold color.
Aromas of neutral Chardonnay harbored sweet honeydew melon and spearmint.
Medium-plus body with sufficient acidity carried an apparently minimally manipulated grape allowing its rich texture and natural flavors nuanced with just whispers of ripe melon, black pepper, and oak to shine.
Finished long on the trailing palate, wet stoniness, and a well-integrated 14.5% alcohol.
As pairing wine has become so important to me, I was delighted when this Dry Creek Chardonnay paired perfectly with my sweet and sour chicken, fried fresh Icelandic cod, and chicken/lemon soup with rice and spinach.
