Gavilan Chalone Vineyard 2014 Chardonnay, $9.34-$22.99, 88 points, was a glossy gold color.
Shy aromas of apple, honeysuckle, and gentle oak notes were good.
Medium dry body with good acidity and a primary oak flavor profile garnished with unobtrusive fruit and citrus delivered a satisfying Chardonnay.
Finished fair on hints of a gingery minerality and a robust 14.4% alcohol.
Varietals were 99% Chardonnay and 1% Pinot Blanc.
Paired fine with our Cajun roasted chicken.
