Merriam Vineyards 'Lower Pond' Alexander Valley 2014 Malbec

Merriam Vineyards 'Lower Pond' Alexander Valley 2014 Malbec, $33.99-$39.99, 91 points, poured with deep purples and reds, hanging red tears, and a moderately broad transparent rim.
Profusely aromatic with lovely robust black fruit, toast, spice, and flowers.
Full-bodied with fair acidity and a sufficient underlayment of tannin managed an abundance of powerful and nuanced flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished long with hints of mulberry, peat, red pepper, and a restrained 13.8% alcohol.
This big red begs for beef, shows domestic Malbec producers how to vinify the varietal, and, I have no doubt, impress Argentina Malbec lovers as well.
