Piattelli Vineyards, Tupungato, Mendoza, Argentina, Grand Reserve 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, $21.24-$24.99, 90 points, poured a deep Toyota sienna red color with a broad clear wine ring and fat stained-legs.
Soft aromas of pine resin, ripe mulberry, and hints of cinnamon and cocoa were pleasant.
Not quite a full-bodied red wine, dry, between sleek and a bit austere, showing good acidity, and a firm underlayment of tannin which supported straight-forward flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished well with a good amount of spice, a trailing palate, and a big 14.5% alcohol.
Paired nicely with my Sheperd's pie.
