Tenuta Sette Ponti "Oreno" 2018 Toscana Red Wine (IGT), $59.49-$79.99, 95 points, poured a deep ruby red with massive, stained legs and a broad clear meniscus.
Aromas seemed quite grapey from afar, but the sniff-test revealed more subtlety with soft floral notes, juniper berry, ripe black cherry, and hints of citrus and cigar-box.
This bone-dry red wine was upfront sleek, smooth, and complex; Oreno showed good acidity, fine grainy tannins, a massive and proper 15% alcohol, and rich flavors from beginning to it almost never ending, spearmint, black cherry, orange pekoe tea, and sweet cooking herbs.
Paired too perfectly with my Mexican cuisine.
