Bodegas Breca Calatayud 2012 100% Garnacha Red Wine

Bodegas Breca Calatayud 2012 100% Garnacha Red Wine, $13.99-$15.99, 90 points, poured core black grading ruby red toward the transparent wine ring and bowl lined with dense fat legs.
The nose was rich black fruits, plum, and roses.
Full-bodied with good acidity and a firm underlayment of tannin delivered blackberry liqueur, plum, and cherry flavors which were almost Port-like.
Finished long on a 15.5% alcohol inspirited spiciness, licorice, and a hint of tobacco.
Paired perfectly with our beef wraps with veggies.

  1. This wine sounds a little ripe for my palate: never particularly like Port characteristics in a table wine.
