Ruffino IL Ducale Toscana 2014 Red Wine (IGT)

Ruffino IL Ducale Toscana 2014 Red Wine (IGT),
$13.59-$18.99, 88 points, poured a deep ruby red with a broad clear rim while the bowl rained-downed dense legs.
Aromas of roses, black cherry, and shoe-leather were near 'dumb', but quietly lovely.
Full-bodied with fair-plus acidity and soft tannins delivered a silky textured oft-dry red wine.
Flavors of slightly sweet cherry fruit, cola, plum, and blueberry were more a fruit-bomb than I would have expected from a Toscana.
Finished long on the trailing palate, easy spice notes, and an appropriate 14% alcohol.
Varietals were 55% Sangiovese, 25% Syrah, and 20% Merlot.
Paired perfectly with my hot Italian sausage and baked beans in a rich tomato sauce.
