Ilauri Bajo D.O.C. 2012 Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, $8.49-$9.99, 89 points, appeared core opaque trending ruby toward the transparent wine halo.
A lovely toasty blackberry aroma was garnished with hints of chocolate.
Black fruit, red raspberry, chocolate with cola notes were rich, fruity, and carried on a medium-plus body of fair-plus acidity and mild tannin.
Flavors mirrored the aroma, and migrated well into the finish with hints of the 13% alcohol and spice notes.
