Segal's Fusion (Israel) 2012 Chardonnay/Colombard Dry White Wine

Segal's Fusion (Israel) 2012 Chardonnay/Colombard Dry White Wine,
$13.99-$15.99, 89 points, poured a very light brass color and transitioned water clear to the glass edge.
The exotic aromas of melon, apple, pineapple, honeysuckle, and other flower notes were spectacular.
Tart lemon and grapefruit with grassy notes left me wondering why this wasn't a Sauvignon Blanc! Neither fish nor foul, the Fusion White Wine was delicious, showing a near medium body with good acidity, definitely dry, flavors that mirrored the aromas, and finished long on tart citrus notes and a well integrated 13% alcohol.

Colombard described by the WineGeeks.

  1. You know how you'll go to a home mystery wine tasting and everyone wants to see if they can fool everyone else with their brown-bagged wine? Well, I'm guessing this one will have everyone scratching their heads!

  2. I love the idea of this wine: I like Colombard, Chard can make a good blender, need to support Israel. Sign me up!
