Robert Hall Paso Robles 2011 Syrah, $11.69-$23.99 (NHLS promotional gift card applied), 92 points, poured a rainbow of reds, beginning deep ruby at the core trending crushed blackberry shiraz purple/red and near the broad clear rim and leggy glass wall a touch of maroon.
Hints of cherry covered chocolate, blackberry cordial, hibiscus, and warm earth made for a class-act bouquet.
The moderately smooth medium-plus body carried good acidity, mild-plus tannin, and flavors that reflected the bouquet with the addition of a slightly sweet cola note.
Finished long on a spicy white pepper, red licorice, and a well integrated 14.5% alcohol.
Without a doubt one of the best valued red wines I've had all year (High QPR).
