Planeta 2015 Chardonnay (Sicilia, Italy), $22.94-$26.99, 91 points, was a dark straw yellow color.
With aromas of finessed white flowers, pear, wood, and sea, I'd say this is one of the best I've had the pleasure of serving.
At more than medium-bodied, more than good acidity, and fine flavors of trace tropical fruit and a hint of citrus followed-up by flavors reflective of the aromas, this Italian Chardonnay has won my heart.
Finished long and well-balanced on slightly sour pome fruit, ginger notes, and a beware-of 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our fried chicken dinner.
