Rex Hill Willamette Valley 2014 Pinot Noir, $25.49-$32.99, 91 points, poured a bright number one purple/red wine color (never mind that #1 is supposed to be a Cabernet) with a broad clear wine ring and a lightly draped bowl.
Aromatic cherry fruit, cinnamon, and a perfumed floral vibe were excellent.
Medium-plus body with good acidity and a grainy underlayment of tannin carried delicious fruity cherry flavors with red licorice and hints of mulling spices.
Finished long on the trailing palate, warm spices, and a spot-on 13.5% alcohol.
