Freemark Abbey Napa Valley 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, $33.99-$43.99, 88 points, poured core black with flashes of opaque purple/red, showing a thin clear rim ring and moderate sheeting on the bowl.
Profuse aromas of blackberry liqueur, black currants, cedar, and a hint of prune were okay.
Full-bodied with fair-plus acidity and a soft underlayment of tannin managed to deliver the aromas onto the palate nuanced with cola and truffle flavors.
Finished long and intense with warm pepper spices and a potent 14.5% alcohol.
