Renzo Masi Fattoria di Basciano I Pini Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2015 Red Wine, $20.39-$23.99, 91 points, poured nearly black throughout with flashes of purple/red, a broad clear wine ring, and moderately fat legs.
The opening nose was rather complex and lovely with black licorice, toasty plum, red raspberry, and black fruits.
Full-bodied with good acidity and a supportive underlayment of tannin managed to deliver the nose and some onto a deep developing palate nuanced with mint, sour, fig, and tangy citrusy notes.
Finished long with the complexity of the trailing palate, easy pepper spices, an enduring iron note, and a potent 14.5% alcohol.
Varietals were equal amounts of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
Paired fine with my beefy and tomato-based Mexican cuisine.

Sounds like a nice wine. Love the photo: texture of blackberries is good for B&W.
ReplyDeleteVG: Second of their wines I've had, and both were very good!
DeleteThx for the compliment!
