Ruffino Modus Toscana I.G.T. 2013 Red Wine, $19.54-$25.99, 90 points, poured core black grading opaque purple/red toward the clear wine rim and densely dripping legs.
Rich loam aromas with cocoa, cedar, and black fruits were outstanding.
Near full-bodied with good acidity and firm, drying, and grainy tannins managed to deliver the aromas onto the palate with tart/tangy pomegranate.
Finished long on the fading palate and evolving pomegranate with white pepper and a well-integrated 14.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 34% Sangiovese, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 33% Merlot.
