Baron De Ley Rioja Reserva 2012 Tempranillo Red Wine, $14.99-$17.99, 90 points, poured core black grading to a bright purple/red with a broad clear wine ring and moderate hanging drapes.
Aromatic smoky blackberry liqueur, plum, and a hint of coffee were quite rich and good.
Near full-bodied red wine with good acidity and firm grainy tannins delivered excellent flavors reflective of the aromas with black licorice.
Finished long on the trailing palate, cherry cola, warm pepper spices, and a spot-on 13.5% alcohol.
