Carmenet Vintner's Collection California 2016 Chardonnay Reserve, $4.22-$10.99, 84 points, poured a medium glossy yellow gold color.
Smells of strong caramel with delicate peach and pine notes were pleasant if a bit ominous for an oak adverse Chardonnay lover.
This near full-bodied white wine was steely smooth.
Oak flavors were just way too dominant for me, but I'm sure those that thrive on them will just love this wine.
Finished as it began, but the restrained 12.5% alcohol should appeal to some.
Paired only okay with my chicken salad sandwich.
