Château D'Aiguilhe 2010 Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, $38.74-$44.99, 91 points, has a near opaque ruby red trending purple color that drapes the glass wall, and rims clear.
The profuse aroma of cedar, clove, earthy cinnamon with violets potently encroaches on the palate. The near full body carries additional nuanced flavors of coffee, cardamom, and savory with a mouth watering acidity and firm comfortable tannin. Though not the most fruit-forward Bordeaux, black currant, boysenberry, and blackberry, are mildly present.
Finishes with notes of tobacco, cayenne, and licorice with some heat (15% alcohol).
The 2010 Château D'Aiguilhe is considerably better than the 2008 (in my humble opinion), and more than $12 more as well.
