Clos Du Val Napa Valley 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, $22.94-$39.99, 92 points, appears nearly opaque trending purple red while touching the rim clear.
A chocolate/tobacco nose follows an earthy cedar, mulberry one, and with a whiff of alcohol (13.5%).
The medium-plus body has mouth-watering acidity, mild yet persistent tannin; what for many will be an underwhelming richness and complexity, but for me is typically Clos Du Val like, much as the Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon, both being rather focused and quite delicious.
Clos Du Val Napa Valley 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is not a "cerebral" red wine, though it is more than competent, and has a flawless earthy plum and juicy black fruit profile with just enough oak to carry into the concluding spicy finish to satisfy.
