Flora Springs Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Flora Springs Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $28.04-$42.99, 91+ points, poured core black grading deep purple/red headed toward the clear wine ring and moderately draped bowl.
The aromatic bouquet opened like port with a touch of peaty Scotch, but in case you think I was hitting the bottle, the more Cab-like aromas of roses, cedar, black currant, and cocoa gradually dominated (lovely).
Full-bodied with good acidity and fine grainy tannins managed to deliver most of the bouquet as a palate buffet.
Finished long and spicy with a potent 14.2% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our burgers.

  1. Generally like this winery's wines. Really like their vineyards, had a wonderful field trip there when I was doing my degree...good farmers.

    1. So many wines, so little time, and visiting vineyards (very desirable) magnifies that conundrum.
