Domaine Gérard Metz Vin D' Alsace "Melody" 2015 Pinot Gris (France), $17.99-$19.99, 85 points, was a medium brass color with green highlights and clearing at the glass shallows.
Aromas of nondescript ripe mango and hints of apple cider were just okay.
Light-plus body carried less than bright acidity and the rather nondescript flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished fair with a hint of ginger, trailing apple cider notes, and the 13% alcohol.
Paired okay with my Asian cuisine.
Not sure if this Pinot Gris just couldn't handle it's age, or if the wine wasn't quite harmonious.
