Mt. Beautiful North Canterbury 2016 Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand), $12.74-$16.99, 89 points, was a dark brass color with green highlights and clearing at the glass edge.
Smells were strong grass and stony notes with a hint of pineapple.
This was a more subtle Sauvignon Blanc, judged by my limited experience, than those sourced from the Marlborough appellation (my first North Canterbury SB), softer, rounder, and less acidic and grassy, though definitely New Zealand born, and that from some interesting Cali and Bordeaux clones.
A light, crisp enough, more tropical and stony lovely dry white table wine, maybe a bit more alcohol (14%).
Finished long on accelerating ginger, and clean kiwi notes.
Paired fine with my Asian cuisine.
