Masciarelli 2015 Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Red Wine, $9.99-$12.99, 89 points, poured an impregnable purple/red with a broad clear wine ring and light legs.
Aromas of sea mist, cherry fruit, and a floral vibe were excellent.
Medium-bodied with good acidity and a firm underlayment of tannin carried delicious flavors of red cherry, tart pomegranate, black tea, and hints of licorice.
Finished long on accelerating spicy pepper notes, hints of fig, and a spot-on 13% alcohol.
