Château Lieujean Haut-Médoc Cru Bourggois 2015 Bordeaux Red Wine, $13.49-$14.99, 87 points, poured a lovely deep purple/red with a broad clear wine ring and waves of sheeting on the bowl.
Smells were a tad soft and herbal with whiffs of roses, vanilla, sweet cooking spices, and black fruit.
Near full-bodied (quite dry) with fine grainy tannins throughout, showed good acidity, and managed to deliver savory, red raspberry, and boysenberry jam flavors, but mid-palate was a bit thin.
Finished well with budding pepper spices, rebounding fruit, and a spot-on 13% alcohol.
Varietals were 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot.
Paired fine with my Shepherd's pie.
